Introduction:
The Spanish Superior Council of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Shipping, together with the Chambers of Commerce of the region of Valencia have launched the program "Complementary Actions for Initiation within the framework of the Operational Program of ERDF" for the period 2007-2013, which is co-financed by the European Fund for Regional Development (ERDF) and the Generalitat Valenciana, through the Valencian Export Institute.
Objective:
To establish an association of companies with respect to their introduction, consolidation and establishment in international markets.
Beneficiaries of the program:
Small and medium companies - SMEs (according to the definition in the European Union) in the Valencian Community, who as potential exporters would like to internationalise their activities, in any one of the introductory or consolidation stages.
National and community legislation have to be complied with: these include rules of de minimis, as well as compliance with tax and Social Security obligations.
Compatibility of the support:
The support offered in the actions are in compliance with the Regulation (EC) No. 1998 / 2006 of the European Commission, of 15 December 2006, with reference to de minimis grants (Official Journal of 28.12.2006) and are compatible with other public grants.)
Characteristics of an export consortium.
(1) A group of companies who want to develop, in conjunction, actvities and export procedures of their products.
(2) The products that the companies supply to the consortium, normally complementary between each other, usually have an identical distribution channel, as well as common promotional events.
(3) They reach a common ecomomic and/or to commercial agreement. The companies are determined by regulations which define their respective responsibilities and rights
(4) According to other formulas concerning export sales, the Consortium shouldn't be considered as a mediator unrelated to the company, but rather as an auxiliary body of the same company whose role is to defend the interests of its members.
Benefits:
(1) The program is co-financed by the European Fund for Regional Development (ERDF) and the Generalitat Valenciana, through the Valencian Export Institute, of 80% of its budget, in the stages of promotion, tutoring, constitution and the starting up of the consortium, by means of the Chamber of Commerce and the promoters approved for such actions.
(2) Elaboration by a Promoter of Strategic Export plan for the consortium.
(3) Presentation before public adminstrations (national and regional), of the applications for subsidies for the activities being considered in the Strategic Plan.
(4) Sharing of costs among the participants.
(5) A wider range of products is offered.
(6) Employment of professional staff from foreign trade.
